AIR JORDAN I LUCKY GREEN

While the Air Jordan I Lucky Green is a WMNS release, a size-run up to US 12 / EU 44,5 drops at BSTN on Thursday, October 15th.

While there have been many iterations of Air Jordan sneakers that paid tribute to some of the most iconic moments of Michael Jordan’s legendary career, this one is paying homage to a particularly special game that took place in the old Boston Garden: The 63 Point Game.

On April 20th 1986, Michael Jordan, at only 22 years old, finished Game 2 of his Bulls’ first round matchup against the mighty Boston Celtics with 63 points. The historic performance not only meant that Jordan would already achieve his Playoff career high in scoring in his second season as a pro but also led Larry Bird to utter one of the most famous quotes of NBA history.

That wasn’t Michael Jordan. That was God disguised as Michael Jordan.

The all-new Air Jordan I Lucky Green pays homage to the memorable game by not only referencing the Bulls’ opponent through a white and green upper but also the venue with the iconic Boston Garden’s parquet floor pattern printed on the insoles of the shoe. The small red highlights found on the upper — including on the tongue, heel, and on the wings logo — are an additional ode to the paint used in the Celtics’ iconic floor design.
