Contemporary design meets subcultural tendencies – the Antwerp based label Arte Antwerp draws its inspiration primarily from art in all its forms: from architecture to underground culture to music. Bertony Da Silva, graphic and illustration student, produced his first capsule collection in 2009, realizing that fashion was the only industry that allowed him to combine his various personal interests.
Arte Antwerp’s styles are characterized by their timeless aesthetic and the use of high quality materials. Simple and elegant cuts are often decorated with large prints that reflect the graphic designer Da Silva. Not only the various forms of art and the city of Antwerp inspire his collections, but also other artists provide him with inspiration, amongst them are rappers like Drake or Jay-Z. With collections incorporating classic silhouettes with subtle unconventional twists ranging from shirts, sweaters, pants to accessories, Arte Antwerp has established a signature look that clearly stands out.
