Every summer, arguably the best street basketball tournament in the world is held in Paris, right beneath the Eiffel Tower. And while basketball fans will have to miss out on the live action of the infamous Quai 54 tournament due to the ongoing repercussions of the global pandemic, Jordan Brand is keeping the event’s spirit and tradition alive by following through with the release of the 2020 edition of its limited sneaker and apparel collection.
Having delivered several highly sought-after editions of iconic signature Jordans over the years, the Quai 54 made sure to at least go down swinging in 2020 with the release of not one but two exclusive designs in the Air Jordan VI and the Air Jordan I Low.
On the six as well as the one, the upper alternates between smooth leather overlays and textile elements featuring brown and yellow graphic patterns that merge geometric shapes with basketball-inspired forms. In addition, both sneakers pair their sail-colored uppers with a gum outsole.
The Jordan Quai 54 2020 collection releases at BSTN on Saturday, July 18th, at 9 am CEST.
With the basketball community already wistfully looking ahead to the actual tournament returning in 2021, reminiscing over the spectacular highlights from previous editions of the Quai 54 with two new special edition Air Jordans on the horizon is not the worst consolation prize in the world.
