First released in 2015, the Air Jordan I ‘Shattered Backboard’ was an instant smash (sorry, we had to): Honoring that moment in 1985 when a young Michael Jordan, wearing the bright orange of Stefanel Trieste, literally shattered expectations by smashing a backboard with a thunderous dunk during a summer exhibition in Italy, the eponymous pair finally returns.
Refined with the updated AJ I mold introduced in 2022 for a sharper, more true-to-original silhouette, the details remain top-shelf: premium tumbled leather, stark black overlays, Nike Air tongue tag, next to lateral Wings logos embossing. Shattered glass graphics on the insoles and the special edition box round out the pair by paying tribute to the dunk that turned a glass backboard into the world’s most infamous see-through puzzle.
