Nike is bringing back a piece of its earliest history, but with a high-fashion twist. Designed by Nike co-founder Bill Bowerman in the 1970s, the original Moon Shoe set the foundation for the brand’s future. It’s follow-up was first revealed at Paris Fashion Week earlier this year: The all-new Jacquemus x Nike Moon Shoe reimagines that legacy through a contemporary luxury lens.
The updated design keeps the Moon Shoe’s sock-like nylon construction while adding cinched ankles and a suede heel counter. Earning its nickname for the distinctive footprints left by the traction bottoms, the model features JACQUEMUS branding on the tongue label and heel. Underneath, the waffle sole – originally crafted via the Bowermans’ waffle iron – completes the return of Nike’s first-ever sneaker after more than 50 years.
The Jacquemus x Nike Moon Shoe in University Red and Off Noir releases at BSTN on Monday, October 6th. Pick up your pair via the button below!
