adidas Consortium revisits one of its most revered running chapters with the ZX 8000 JC & MT Pack, bringing the archive back into focus. Rooted in the A-ZX lineage that defined late ’80s and early ’90s performance design, the release pays homage to Jacques Chassaing and Markus Thaler – the minds behind the original ZX framework introduced in 1989. Rather than a straight retro, the duo returns as a refined heritage exercise, nodding to the era that shaped the ZX legacy.
The blue colorway draws from the spirit of the original ‘Aqua,’ preserving the ZX 8000’s signature multi-layered construction through premium mesh, soft suede, and structured overlays, anchored by the iconic heel clip and Torsion System. Deeper tones and sharper color blocking give the classic runner a richer, more contemporary edge without diluting its technical DNA.
