A LEGACY REMASTERED

When trailblazing freeskier Scot Schmidt pushed the boundaries of skiwear to create Steep Tech in collaboration with The North Face, it started a highly technical line of athlete tested and expedition proven gear that is still treasured today, more than 30 years later. This year, The North Face pay homage to Schmidt with Steep Tech RMST; a timely reimagination that honors the past and anticipates the future.

In anticipation of the RMST collection launch, BSTN teamed up with The North Face to host a community get-together for the BSTN Fam in London. Hosted by family friend FD from the Future, the event included a Bavarian Curling competition (inspired by BSTN’s Munich roots) as well as an early look at the upcoming collection.

Along with drinks from RedBull, Havana Club, and Noam Beer as well as tunes by Kinkin Collective, the extended BSTN family enjoyed a friendly competition between teams XPLR Pass, The North Face, Dukes Cupboard, and The Drop Date (all hail the champs) on a custom-built curling ring (shoutout to the homies from Sunst Studios).

In addition, free skier (and current brand ambassador) Jossi Wells shared some insights from the RMST collection campaign shoot, working with Scot Schmidt and the latest gear.

The RMST collection, filled with classics like the Nuptse Down Jacket, delivers the latest performance technologies but still remains reminiscent of the original Scot Schmidt Steep Tech Designs. It is headlined by the RMST Steep Tech GTX Work Jacket, featuring durable and fully waterproof GORE-TEX fabric, the asymmetrical zipper style features an adjustable and removeable hood, and fully bonded seams.

The RMST Steep Tech collection by The North Face releases at BSTN on Tuesday, February 20th. Pick up your favorite pieces via the button below!
