AIR JORDAN 1 LOW SB

Nike Jordan I Low Dark Powder Blue by Eric Koston

It’s not necessarily a secret anymore that the Air Jordan I — due to its comfort and dependability — enjoyed a certain popularity within the skate community. Count legendary pro skater Eric Koston among the early fans of the iconic hoops silhouette. That doesn’t mean that getting his hands on a pair was not always that easy for him growing up.

Koston’s second take on the Jordan I Low this year ties back to a pair his mother refused to buy for him off the clearance racks because “the shoes he had were fine”, according to her. The dark powder blue and white pair pays homage to the exact model he saw in the store way back in ’86 — including its $ 24,99 price tag, featured as a hidden detail on a woven label under the tongue.

To almost everyone, they see a “UNC” Jordan I. To me, it represents the era and the place that was the beginning of skateboarding for me. It’s so surreal to see my name along side such an iconic shoe, from an iconic era. I am truly thankful.
