AIR JORDAN X NINA CHANEL ABNEY

The latest version of the Air Jordan II continues the silhouettes heritage of artisan spirit and supreme craftsmanship. New York-based artist Nina Chanel Abney has managed to create a contemporary version of Jordans second signature shoe that clearly resembles the original while simultaneously being distinctly unique due to its line placement and material mix.

On the footwear side, the collaborative capsule collection includes two WMNS shoes: A white and gym red version of Nina Chanel Abney‘s take on the Air Jordan II as well as a white and malachite-colored version of its lowtop counterpart. Both shoes embody Abney’s pop-surrealist style with clean lines, minimal branding and colorful, geometric shapes.

The AJ II is equipped with a special, over-sized hang-tag of a silver frame around one of the Nina Chanel Abney’s characteristic artworks, depicting Michael Jordan shooting over a double-team. The artist’s unique style is also continued on the shoe box, making either pair of the twos a stand-out piece in any collection.

Both versions of the Air Jordan II by Nina Chanel Abney release at BSTN on Friday, July 8th.
