Organized by an all-female team, BSTN and Asics invited five female creatives to an embroidery workshop to celebrate creativity, individuality and the iconic Asics Gel-Kayano 14. During the workshop, tote bags were customized, with each participant using their own unique style and embroidery techniques to craft one-of-a-kind pieces.
Hosted and directed by Victoria Martini, a Munich-based artist with more than two decades of embroidery expertise under her belt, the workshop focused on contemporary embroidery to explore creativity as well as specific mechanics and techniques.
Matching the ‘sound mind, sound body’ philosophy of Asics, the event provided new skills both mental and physical, while customization could be understood not only for the purpose of self-expression and individuality – but also as a more conscious and sustainable approach for outfit choices on a daily basis.
