adidas continues its legacy of collaborations with Japanese streetwear icon BAPE, unveiling two fresh iterations of the adidas Superstar alongside a range of apparel and accessories that merge the distinctive aesthetic DNAs of the two powerhouses.
The collection features ‘Footwear White’ and blue colorways of the SSTR V, a silhouette that evolved the adidas Superstar Vintage using inspiration from BAPE’s ’00s Bapesta: Boasting BAPE’s signature camouflage pattern embossed on the leather upper, both pairs come with golden foil APE HEAD logos on the heels, dual-branded lace locks, and trade the traditional adidas Superstar back tab for a glossy patent leather piece.
Additionally, the left shoe features lateral Three Stripes while and a medial BAPE’s star logo, while the right shoe flips the designs. On the apparel side, a mix of inspiration comes to life on the capsule’s hoodie: the stand-out piece fuses the BAPE shark hoodie motif – aka one of the iconic streetwear pieces of the new millennium – with an adidas track jacket in a colorway inspired by ’80s hip hop. Matching Firebird Tracksuits, a co-branded tee, socks, hat, and an embossed side bag round out the head-turning collection.
