Brain Dead and adidas join forces once again, this time around for the Japan Flames collection: The capsule, built around the classic adidas Japan silhouette that was first introduced alongside the Tokyo Olympics in 1964, celebrates the iconography of wrestling via the a lightweight shoe, whose clean lines quickly made it a design classic and later inspired the boxing-boot–influenced Japan H version.
Injecting fresh energy into both the high-top and low-top versions of the silhouette, the design combines grained leather bases with shaggy suede overlays shaped like flames – a textured, standout look that guarantees to turn heads (with no wrestling moves involved). Thick fuzzy laces and gold-embossed co-branding add subtle detailing, while a yellowed rubber sole on the low-top versions delivers an authentic vintage feel.
