Back in 2006, the CLOT x Nike Air Max 1 “Kiss of Death” made waves in the sneakers scene like an Indiana Jones-sized boulder dropped into calm mountain lake. And now, 15 years after the original release, the iconic design is back!
The trailblazing design of the Air Max 1, including its characteristic see-through elements, not only turned heads on the streets as well as on the message boards but also kick-started a long time partnership between the Swoosh and CLOT, a label only founded three years earlier by Edison Chen and Kevin Poon.
To celebrate the 15 year anniversary of this legendary Air Max colorway, the K.O.D. returns for the first time, albeit with a few minimal tweaks. The design still draws its major inspiration from traditional Chinese medicine. The clear outsole reveals the shoe’s signature foot reflexology pattern while tanned suedes dominate on the upper. The Kiss of Death’s unique design is driven home by the green eyelets, the distinctive heel embroidery and – of course – the clear toe box, revealing a custom-printed insole.
