DISRUPTING THE STATUS QUO

(Street) fashion and football unite, inspired by “those who disrupt the status quo”: To celebrate the 25th anniversary of the Air Max Plus, a certified staple among roadmen from London through Paris to Chicago, Nike takes the design of the iconic pair to the pitch.

As showcased by PSG’s Mbappé, the Nike Air Mercurial TN transforms the Air Max Plus’ swirly ripple cage to a game-ready boot with Zoom Air technology and a foot-hugging shell. While the latter only drops in limited numbers, it releases alongside a street-ready counterpart: The style-lending Nike Air Max Plus ‘Voltage Purple’, a design by Sean McDowell that first released in 1998 and has long gained a cult following.

The Air Max Plus ‘Voltage Purple’ boasts a foundation of purple mesh with black leather overlays on the mudguards, tongues and heels. Details in Total Orange provide additional pops of color, which can also be found on the visible Air units within the white midsole. Reflective 3M accents along the tongues and a black rubber outsole round out the pair.

The Nike Air Max Plus OG ‘Voltage Purple’ releases at BSTN on Monday, January 15th. Pick up your pair via the button below!
