FROM FIRST LIGHT EDITORIAL

42 kilometers. 70,990 steps. Roughly 2,500 meters of elevation. To mark the return of the Speedgoat 2 – one of HOKA’s defining trail silhouettes – BSTN brought together five members of the extended BSTN family to take on the KOASA Panorama Trail at Wilder Kaiser. Because no studio could ever tell that story, the shoe was put exactly where it belongs: from first light, running and hiking until the final descent.

The accompanying From First Light Editorial follows Jana, Julia, Manon, William and Lukas alongside the BSTN team, one step, one climb and one conversation at a time. Somewhere between the first sunrise and the final kilometer, what started as a wear test became something else entirely: a reminder that the best miles are the ones shared.

Along for every step: the HOKA Speedgoat 2 in its striking ‘Neon Yuzu’ colorway. Staying true to the silhouette that helped define HOKA’s trail-running DNA, it pairs lightweight construction with a Vibram Megagrip outsole and the dependable confidence that has made the Speedgoat a trail staple ever since. Judging by the team’s feet, comfortably so.

Special thanks to our local guides Manuela and Andreas for leading the way, as well as the good folks of LEDLENSER for equipping the crew with headlamps and GARMIN for providing multisport smartwatches throughout the journey.

The ‘Neon Yuzu’ and All-Black colorways of the HOKA Speedgoat 2 release at BSTN on Friday, July 10th. Pick up your favorite via the button below!
