NIKE DUNK LOW SYRACUSE/KENTUCKY

Building on decades of history and tradition, the Nike Dunk has long established itself as a footwear staple within the worlds of skateboarding and (more recently) popular sneaker culture. On several occasions, this is especially true for the Dunk’s lowtop version.

However, the iconic silhouette was first introduced on the hardwood floors of college basketball. Through their infamous “Be True To Your School” campaign (1985), Nike outfitted some of the most renowned NCAA basketball powerhouses with Dunks to match their respective program’s colors.

Nike's "Be True To Your School" campaign for Dunk from 1985.

Now, some of these legendary colorways of the Nike Dunk are brought back as the Swoosh is celebrating the 35th anniversary of the shoe’s debut. Kicking off the celebration are colorways tying back to venerable college basketball programs Syracuse and Kentucky. (Much to the delight of one Devin Booker.)

While the design of the shoes stays true to the original ’85 campaign, both colorways will release as lowtops, combining a white leather base with accents of orange blaze and varsity royal respectively.

The Nike Dunk Low Syracuse as well as the Nike Dunk Low Kentucky will release at BSTN on Saturday, March 14th. Enter the raffle for a chance to get your hands on the shoes.
