NIKE RUCKER PARK PACK

This special edition of the Nike Air Force 1 Low and the Nike Air Flight 89 pay homage to the hallowed grounds of Rucker Park. As one of many basketball-specific details, the Harlem zip code of the infamous streetball court is embroidered on the heel of each pair.

Both shoes feature a white leather upper with eye-catching orange details, reminiscent of the brightly colored jerseys worn during the Entertainers Basketball Classic, the notorious streetball tournament held at Rucker Park.

The Rucker Park pack, consisting of the Air Force 1 Low and the Air Flight 89, release at BSTN on Satuday, May 30th, at 9 am CET.

Madison Square Garden is certainly not the only reason why New York City is called the Mecca of basketball. From West 4th Street in lower Manhattan to Hoops in the Sun out at the Beach and dozens more all across the metropolis, the city offers a myriad of streetball tournaments, all with their own unique charm.

The EBC’s major draw has always been its ability to draw major celebrities, both from the world of entertainment as well as from the ranks of professional basketball. As NBA players want to mingle with rappers and vice versa, the Entertainers Basketball Classic is the ultimate melting pot of the two.

Nothing illustrates the symbiosis of hip hop and streetball mixed with pro hoops better than the legendary summer of 2003. If you haven’t done so already, check out this documentary on the most anticipated game of basketball to never be played! “The Blackout” is a must-watch, not just for basketball nerds!

Those in the know might have already made a connection between the Rucker Park pack’s colorway and one particularly memorable scoring performance that occurred in Rucker Park. Then again, orange has been a good omen as a jersey color during an EBC game more than once.
