The Patta x Nike Air Max 1 is inspired by the authentic connection between the Amsterdam-based brand and the Air Max community. The latest collaboration draws from the original Air Max 1 silhouette and adds a twist through a new wave pattern and mini Swoosh on the mudguard, while Patta’s logo appears on the tongue and sock liner.
The Patta x Nike partnership began in 2008 with an Air Max 1 collaboration. Now, the seventh collaboration between the two industry giants brings the partnership full circle by introducing yet another reinterpretation (the fifth overall) of the iconic Air Max silhouette.
In celebration of the release, Patta and Nike produced four short films directed by burgeoning filmmaker, Mahaneela who worked under the mentorship of critically acclaimed UK Filmmaker Steve McQueen. The Wave films are broken into four chapters that explore the themes of freedom, creativity, and truth within the Patta community, as they ebb and flow through cultural landscapes of style, music, fashion, and sport. The films were produced by McQueen’s production house, Lammas Park.
