STYLE GUIDE: HERON PRESTON

Whether you need inspiration for your next outfit or you just want to enjoy some workwear inspired luxury streetwear: Find our style guide for Heron Preston now at BSTN Chronicles!

Heron Preston, the multi-talented designer of the fashion label by the same name, said it best himself: People “don’t want to follow rules; they want to break the rules.” We won’t argue with that, but as it never hurts to still get some inspiration for your next outfit, here’s three ideas by yours truly how to style the perfectly opulent basics by Heron Preston.

1. Oversized & utilitarian

You might have noticed it already: Heron Preston loves an oversized fit and doesn’t hide his love for workwear inspiration either. So while an oversized t-shirt and matching wide jeans keep things comfortable (and balanced color-wise) in the men’s outfit, the short jean jacket in the women’s outfit is combined with a baggy pant by THE original workwear brand Carhartt. The logo collar tees add further dimension in both ensembles thanks to their contrasting colors and subtle font details.

With orange being a mainstay in workwear uniforms, for example by construction workers or firefighters, of course it’s an orange colored statement piece that takes home the win in both outfits: The orange belt perfectly breaks up the colors of the tops and the pants, while white sneakers round off the look.

2. Heritage (the Heron way)

While Heron Preston is well-known for creating workwear inspired luxury streetwear, this outfit keeps it a little bit more traditional (but with updated silhouettes): That’s thanks to the beige knit cardigan, which serves as the main piece of this fit. The loose fitted Levi’s chinos contribute to the heritage style of the cardigan and, by staying in a similar toned down color palette, leave room for the grey t-shirt, the matching hat and the subtle chain to shine. For the foot section, one can’t go wrong with white Air Force 1s – but they definitely harmonize best with the heritage styled outfit when worn crispy white.

3. Some blue for you

Built around the blue hoodie by Heron Preston, the brand‘s subtle black pants leave enough space to shine for the loudest piece in this ensemble. And peep how the blue patch of the pants matches too. For layering, the white tee effortlessly bridges the color-blocking pieces of black and blue. This white color scheme is picked up by the hat, with the latter’s orange embroidery going hand in hand with the hoodie’s orange graphic.
