THE ART OF MOVEMENT

A follow-up to our exclusive release of the ASICS GEL-KAYANO 12.1, the BSTN flagship store in Munich hosted a dedicated workshop and practice session – led by the campaign’s protagonist and BSTN Fam member Omid – connecting a deeper dive into the principles of the art of movement with hands-on experience.

Following his tried and tested philosophy of ‘Move your body! Empty your mind! Be free!’, Omid guided the workshop participants through a series of exercises and tutorials around our hometown of Munich.

Why do we practice movements? It originates from survival instincts like flight and fight. Those are two crucial disciplines that are often neglected, creating an alienation from one’s own body. Specific exercises and stances can help recreate or re-strengthen that connection, especially if they stay true to those innate primal instincts.

Omid

Omid has dedicated his life to a deeper understanding of martial arts and movement. His passionate striving for a balance between body and mind has led him to master multiple disciplines, ranging from different combat sports to Methode Naturell, Qigong, Yoga, and many more. His in-depth knowledge across such wide variety of techniques makes him a true pioneer of his field.

The essence of both my training as well as my teachings is to convey the sense and the reason behind every motion. The training methods I’ve developed over more than two decades are the basis of my philosophy. At its core, stance, breathing, movement, and relaxation are the four pillars that not only work as foundational pieces for many different disciplines but are equally as important in balancing your body and mind.
