THE FINAL BREAK OF DAWN

It’s the “end of a glorious, glamorous era”: Rolls-Royce has announced the end of the production of the Rolls-Royce Dawn after a seven-year production run. Seamlessly combining aesthetics, comfort, and engineering prowess, the opulent 564 horsepower car has been hailed by automotive enthusiasts and collectors alike for its performance and design.

While the discontinuation leaves the Ghost, Phantom and Cullinan as the British company’s three remaining models with a combustion engine, Rolls-Royce is gearing up for the car’s successor, the electric Spectre EV – and we take a moment to look back on five hand-picked moments when the allegedly “most silent open-top car in the world” made noise the luxurious way:

Ja Morant

To state the obvious: The value of the Rolls-Royce Dawn is likely to go up due to its discontinuation. And that’s probably even true for Ja Morant’s one, despite the Memphis Grizzlies player’s penchant for standing on top of his cars, including the said model.

Teyana Taylor

Before wrapping her Dawn’s color dark gray eventually, the singer drove the car in its original white color. And judging from the caption below, she payed very close attention to the Rolls-Royce hood ornament. Spoiler alert: Not suitable for work.

Gucci Mane

If you’re familiar with Guwop’s car collection, you know he had to do it: Just when you thought that the Dawn’s design couldn’t turn any more heads, the Atlanta rapper had his customized to a loud red to match the rest of his carpool.

Bad Bunny

The record-breaking singer needed a car to match his bigger-than-life status in his hit video “Yo Perreo Sola” and his Rolls-Royce Dawn understood the assignment. The custom pink leather seats and interior probably also helped. Check it out at the 1 minute timemark here:

Georgina Rodriguez & Christiano Ronaldo

Fun fact: There’s someone dressed up as Santa Clause in this video of model Georgina Rodriguez gifting her partner Ronaldo a brand new Rolls-Royce Dawn for Christmas. Given the car’s show-stopping design, it’s easy to totally miss everything else in the video though.
