Following the staggering success of their collaborative Air Jordan VI release last month, Nike and Travis Scott are ready to set the sneaker game ablaze yet again. On November 16th, the two giants of the footwear and the rap game are teaming up once more to release Travis’ second rendition of the iconic Nike Air Force 1.
Sitting atop the timeless combination of a gum outsole and white midsole, the upper is made up of multicolored elements of canvas, suede, corduroy, leather, and flannels. The earthy tones and material-mix are reminiscent of La Flame’s upbringing on the outskirts of Houston. Work-wear colors and materials, that were ubiquitous around his grandmother’s countryside house in Missouri City, TX, were strong influences on the design of Travis’ second take on the AF1.
The shoe’s telltale feature is an additional tongue sitting on top of the laces, with the black and navy-blue components divided by a golden zipper. The Air Force 1 low can be dressed up or down by simply adding/removing the additional tongue and can be customized to the specific liking of each individual wearer thanks to three different sets of laces being enclosed with the shoes.
