June 19th, the opening day of the 2026 World Cup – before a ball had even been kicked, Munich was already celebrating.
Together with adidas and our friends from Taqueria con Salsa, we welcomed our community for a special evening dedicated to one of this summer’s host nations: Mexico. What started as a watch party quickly turned into something much bigger.
As the crowd grew, so did the energy. Authentic Mexican food, cold drinks, football and a live performance by Mariachi Alma Mexicana de Munich brought together people from all corners of the city, transforming the evening into what was arguably Munich’s biggest Mexican watch party.
For a few hours, the distance between Munich and Mexico felt a little smaller. Surrounded by a sea of adidas Mexico jerseys spanning different generations, the room became a vibrant celebration of football culture, heritage and national pride – with every shirt carrying its own story.
A huge thank you to adidas, Taqueria con Salsa and everyone who joined us. You turned a special idea into a memorable night and a beautiful kind of chaos we’ll remember for a long time.
