Last weekend, Oakley’s Artifacts from the Future landed in Munich’s Glockenbach district – presented by BSTN. We brought together a diverse crowd of tastemakers, Oakley enthusiasts, members of the local community – and even some pro ballers. Across two days, guests explored a curated selection of Oakley artifacts, next-generation eyewear, and apparel styles, all centered around the evolution of one of the brand’s most iconic creations: the Jackets.
Originally introduced in 1994, Jackets challenged conventional ideas of performance eyewear through its distinctive twin-lens construction and bold, high-wrap design – hence the name “Jackets”. At the pop-up showroom, archive pieces met the latest generation of the silhouette, highlighting how a product once built for athletes evolved into a cultural artifact in its own right.
Fast forward and more than three decades later, Oakley continues to push that same pioneering spirit forward – also most recently with a certain Travis Scott stepping into the role of Chief Visionary and helping shape the brand’s next chapter.
Throughout the weekend, guests had the opportunity for exclusive one-on-one styling sessions with the Oakley team, including personalized eyewear customization and head-to-toe looks built around the latest collection. From first encounters with the new Jackets to conversations around design, innovation, and self-expression, the space remained buzzing throughout the weekend.
The gathering culminated on Saturday evening as the community came together once more for a closing celebration soundtracked by longtime BSTN Fam friend Chelo. Thank you to Oakley for inviting us to be part of the Jackets Incubation, and to everyone who stopped by throughout the weekend to celebrate the past, present, and future of one of eyewear’s most iconic franchises.
