adidas will release Yeezy inventory throughout the month of August 2023, with BSTN Store as one selected partner: The release will feature Yeezy products which were initiated in 2022 – including the Yeezy Boost 350 V2, the Yeezy 500 and Yeezy Boost 700 as well as the YEEZY Slide and Foam Runner – with adidas donating a significant amount to selected organizations working to combat discrimination and hate, including racism and antisemitism.
With the available models ranging amongst the most popular footwear not only by the brand but in streetwear in general, the release encapsulates the influence of the Yeezy brand. And even though it feels as if the brand has been around forever, it was only launched in 2015 via ‘Yeezy Season 1’ – and whilst the first apparel collection by adidas and Yeezy turned heads with its futuristic minimalism, still a shoe stole the show: The Yeezy Boost 350, which shortly after was followed by its even more popular successor, the Yeezy Bost 350 V2.
Both silhouettes mastered what other slip-on sneakers before them couldn’t: They were gym-ready, thanks to a comfy primeknit upper atop a Boost sole. But, and that was new, they looked just as good with date-night attire due to their clean look that was equally futuristic as it was minimalistic.
Thanks to the involvement of industry design veterans like Steven Smith and new faces as Salehe Bembury alike, Yeezy kept on pushing innovation consequently: In 2017, the Yeezy Boost 700 took the dad-shoe craze and enhanced it with streamlined boldness. Later in 2020, the eco-friendly Yeezy Foam Runner joined the Yeezy slide in Yeezy’s non-sneaker footwear department, while upping the ante in terms of otherworldly designs. And while other brands have blurred the lines between streetwear and high fashion before, there’s only a few that do it as popular as the Yeezy brand.
