AIR FORCE 1 WHT/RED/GUM

Debuted in 1982, Nike is launching a series of dedicated 40th anniversary editions for one of its most important silhouettes of all time: The Air Force 1. BSTN’s celebratory campaign showcases different faces from the community that is ready to take a major role in the next forty years of the legendary sneaker.

Headlining the campaign is Maëlle, a social worker, dancer, and musician as well as an advocate of disruptive thinking, based in Berlin. She not only takes her Air Force 1 to various empowerment spaces across her hometown but also behind the scenes of her creative process. Ultimately, it’s the community that plays a role bigger than most.

Just like the Color Of The Month, a series of monthly releases at a trio of Baltimore sneaker retailers that was a vital part of keeping the Air Force 1 available for a passionate consumer base during the mid-eighties, the 40th anniversary lineup includes the ultimate classic, the all-white AF1 Low, as well as other team color-friendly variants playing off of the original. Up next, the clean White/Gym Red/Gum edition.

As part of the celebratory “Since 1982” series of Air Force 1s, each pair comes with a special edition toothbrush – a subtle yet cunning reminder of one of the go-to tools to maintain the picture-perfect and crisp white upper of your pair of AF1s.

The latest addition to the Air Force 1’s ‘Since 1982’ lineup, the AF1 White/University Red/Gum, releases on Thursday, August 11th, at BSTN. Pick up your pair via the button below!
