Roughly twenty-seven years since the legendary hip hop combo from South Jamaica, Queens dropped their groundbreaking debut Bacdafucup – certified as one of The Source magazine’s 100 best rap albums of all time – BEASTIN has teamed up with Onyx for a limited-edition apparel collection. The capsule is highlighted by BEASTIN’s twist on the iconic mad face logo that has become a staple of the global hip hop culture.
The collection features two premium cotton t-shirts, a heavyweight hoodie (530 g/sm), a polar-fleece half-zip, a snapback cap and last but not least two pairs of practice shorts based on OG Champion mesh. In true BEASTIN fashion, the line mixes authentic US sportswear DNA with Onyx’ proprietary black, white and red color scheme.
I was fourteen years old when Onyx dropped Bacdafucup and I remember vividly how groundbreaking their aggressive style was. And of course, ‘Slam’ was obviously THE basketball anthem. I also remember going to one of their live shows, one of the most energetic performances I’ve ever seen.
