As part of the announcement of a four-year partnership between adidas and the Jamaican Football Federation, the Jamaican national team – dubbed the Reggae Girlz and Reggae Boyz – receive and all-new lineup of game day and on-field apparel, designed in collaboration with Wales Bonner.
Following the inaugural adidas Originals collection Wales Bonner’s design of the new kit inspired by her own Jamaican heritage and the Caribbean community’s cross-cultural influence. The home kit sports the traditional color pattern on a bright yellow base with pinstripe details and a subtle Wales Bonner embroidery below the neck.
The opportunity to design the first on pitch kits for the Jamaican national teams with adidas Football has been such a special opportunity. For the collection we set out to celebrate Jamaican style and to offer something timeless, elegant and essential. I hope the shirts bring joy to the wearers and carry forward the everlasting beauty and uplifting spirit of the island.
