The all-new ‘Fashion Show’ collection by Lacoste serves up a perfect full-circle moment, channeling the essence of the one and only René Lacoste—the tennis icon who didn’t just win a ridiculous amount of titles (seven Grand Slams, anyone?) but casually redefined sportswear with his eponymous brand.
Inspired by the 1920s and 1930s when René was not only dominating the courts but soaking in the avant-garde vibes of a Paris bursting with art and culture, this collection nods to a time when rule-breakers and innovators shaped the world. Lacoste himself, a part of this creative whirlwind, teamed up with artist Robert George to design the crocodile – the very first, in 1933 – and this original illustration finds new life in the latest collection.
Marking her first runway show for Lacoste, creative director Pelagia Kolotouros brings a fresh energy while staying true to the brand’s roots. Just as René transformed the game of tennis, Pelagia has reimagined its codes: Together with the studio, they delved deep into the DNA of both tennis and Lacoste. Paying homage to these intertwined legacies, the ‘Fashion Show’ editorial by BSTN blends the brand’s heritage with modernity equally, with the vast open spaces of Berlin serving as the dreamy backdrop.
The Lacoste Fashion Show collection releases at BSTN on Friday, September 13th. Pick up your favorite pieces via the link below!
