This weekend, On has taken over Berlin’s Kraftwerk location to host the latest edition of their On Labs series and offered BSTN an early sneak peek. Loaded with the label’s signature blend of innovation and performance technology, the exibit combines an exclusive look at the production of the groundbreaking LightSpray™ production process with art and music.
The distinct industiral background clashes with On’s future-driven design across 7,000 square meters, offering visitors a first-hand experience of theLightSpray™ robot that turns a 1.5 km long thread into a lightweight shoe upper in a single automated three-minute step. The result is the brand’s lightest performance shoe to date that also cuts the carbon emissions of the shoe by 75% compared to other On competition shoes.
In addition, the exhibition also includes the installation Architecting Lightness by multidisciplinary artist Boris Acket that transforms the invisible medium of air into a meditative, sculptural environment.
The artwork – as well as the On Labs exhibition as a whole – underlines On’s continued quest to produce innovative technologies like LightSpray™ as the brand seeks ultimate lightness by removing the unnecessary to leave only the pure sensation of running.
The On Labs Berlin is open – now thru Sunday, September 21st – at Kraftwerk Berlin, offering visitors running analysis, community workouts, interactive workshops, running challenges, and panel talk discussions in addition to the exclusive sneak peek at how LightSpray™ models are made.
