Louis Poulsen PH 5 Pastels Oyster - Universal Plug

In 1958, Poul Henningsen designed the PH 5 in response to the constant changes in the shape and size of light bulbs. He wanted to create a luminaire that could be used with any light source. The iconic design of the Louis Poulsen PH 5 is based on the same principles as Henningsen's system of three reflective shades, which provides a soft, pleasant and completely glare-free light, making it the perfect table lamp for the dining room, for example. Originally, the PH 5 was fitted with red and blue shades to enhance the color of the light. However, these were removed in later designs, as modern light sources reproduce daylight much more effectively than was possible in 1958. Today, the PH 5 is available in different color variants and is a popular and well-known pendant luminaire that can be found in many households around the world.
