The asics GEL-LYTE V sneaker was inspired by its original design, which first appeared in 1993. The original design of the upper used different elements from individual sketches that various designers had previously discarded. This model takes up the design approach and combines suede and mesh inserts as the upper material. The characteristic wave design of the midsole has also been retained.
