Mercer's Re-Run Pineapple 2.0 combines two successful concepts: mesh made from recycled plastic bottles and vegan pineapple leather. More specifically, the upper material is made from pineapple leaves sourced from local pineapple farmers in the Philippines, who earn additional income as a result, and animal-based ingredients are replaced with plant-based ones.
