This crew neck sweatshirt from Champion takes up the second generation Reverse Weave model, which received its second patent in 1952. The Reverse Weave method uses fabrics designed for vertical use and instead arranges them horizontally to reduce vertical shrinkage of garments. This model also features EXPANSION GUSSET inserts on the sides, which were not present on the first 1938 model. These gussets reduce the effect of horizontal constriction and offer greater freedom of movement, a significant innovation recognized by the second Champion patent. The new crewneck takes the original model and offers it with details such as fully sewn-in edges, the label on the collar with the patent numbers of the technologies. The design used in the print is based on real vintage products.
