Byredo's Oud Immortel eau de parfum is based on the scent of oud, a special wood that has been used for centuries to make incense and perfume. When a particular type of mold spreads on the light hardwood of the eaglewood tree, the tree protects itself by soaking its bark with a dark and strong-smelling resin. This dark wood, oud or eaglewood, contains a complex fragrance that can hardly be compared to other natural substances.
